17 weeks

How far along: 17 weeks

Baby's size: a turnip; 5 ounces and about 5 inches long


What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter.com):
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.


Symptoms: migraines!

Total Weight Gain: 4 pounds

Best moment since last update: crib is in and ready to be picked up


Movement: some


Food cravings: Sprite


What I miss: sleeping through the night


What I'm looking forward to: feeling some more movement :)

Nichole, I had HORRIBLE migraines during the second trimester with both my pregnancies. They only last for 2-3 weeks, but they were daily during that time.

My "remedy" both times was Tylenol and caffeine, taken together. Both are safe in moderation. My doctor even approved ;) If you haven't already, try taking a normal dose of regular tylenol and drinking a coke (or coffee, or your choice of caffeinated beverage). I can't say it will make them go away completely, but it does take the edge off so that they're tolerable.

You didn't ask my advice, I've been there (twice!) and pregnancy migraines are horrible, so I hope this helps.

thanks maria - i've been meaning to go get some tylenol and keep forgetting! i have been trying caffiene though and that helps some :)
