How far along: 24 weeks - only 16 more to go (that sounds so soon!)
Baby's size: the baby is just over 1 pound and has grown to almost a footlong (picture an ear of corn)
What baby is up to (according to Babycenter.com):
His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
Symptoms: stretching! it has been keeping up at night because i can really feel when I roll over (which i do a lot at night!)
Total Weight Gain: according to the doctor's scale at our visit on friday 15 pounds
Best moment since last update: we had a doctor's appointment. Your heartbeat was in the 140s and my tummy measured 24.5 cm - we are still trying to schedule a time to find out derek's blood type. he attempted to give blood and has scheduled two doctor's appointments and both have not worked out and then when we went to the OB the lab tech had went home already. hopefully before our next appointment we will know!
Movement: yep! the baby is getting stronger :)
Food cravings: milk
What I miss: sleeping comfortably
What I'm looking forward to: thanksgiving dinner!
Weekly picture: while we were taking pictures the baby took some pretty big kicks/moves to my bladder!
