How far along: 29 weeks
Baby's size: baby weighs 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel
What baby is up to (according to Babycenter.com):
His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain – which is busy developing billions of neurons. Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester.
Symptoms: some swelling in my hands and feet
Total Weight Gain: 20 pounds
Best moment since last update: we enjoyed spending time with our family for Christmas!
Movement: yep!
Food cravings: peppermint, fruit, peanut butter (I actually considered eating clementines and vanilla ice cream together one night)
What I miss: traveling without having to pee every half hour or less!
What I'm looking forward to: celebrating Christmas this week had me thinking about what Chrismas will be like next year with our baby :)
